  • The official Japanese website of the Rosario-Vampire anime franchise has posted a promotional movie for the second series, Rosario-Vampire Capu2.Both anime series adapt Akihisa Ikeda's original supernatural school comedy manga about a human boy who secretly attends a school for supernatural creatures. The second series was announced in April, and it will premiere in Japan in October.
  • The official Japanese website of the TV Tokyo broadcasting station has updated its website for the Slayers Revolution anime series and posted a 30-second promotional movie. This will be the fourth television anime series to adapt Hajime Kanzaka and Rui Araizumi's fantasy comedy novel series, after the first Slayers series, Slayers Next, and Slayers Try. The new anime will premiere in Japan on July 2. All three of the previous television series have been released in North American by various companies.
  • The official Japanese website for the live-action film adaptations of Naoki Urasawa's 20th Century Boys suspense manga has posted a new trailer.The first film in the planned trilogy will open in Japan on August 30.

    Director Yukihiko Tsutsumi is adapting this acclaimed manga about a man who realizes that a deadly cult threatening the world has ties to his childhood memories. Toshiaki Karasawa will star as Kenji, and Etsushi Toyokawa and Takako Tokiwa will star as Kenji's childhood friends Otcho and Yukiji, respectively.
  • Michael Turner, one of the creators of the American comic Witchblade which was the source of the Witchblade anime series and Witchblade: Takeru manga, passed away on June 27. He was 37. He was diagnosed with bone cancer eight years ago.

    The Witchblade comic has been published by Image Comics' Top Cow Productions since 1995. In 2004, Japan's Gonzo studio announced plans to adapt it into a 24-episode television series, which was then aired in Japan. FUNimation Entertainment licensed the anime for North American distribution. Separately, Top Cow also sold the rights for a Witchblade manga. Veteran screenwriter Yasuko Kobayashi, who co-wrote the scripts for the anime series, created the spin-off story for the manga.Witchblade: Takeru was serialized in Akita Shoten's Champion RED magazine and exported back to the United States in two separate editions: as a set of flipped, full-color 32-page comics from Top Cow, and as more traditional unflipped manga-style volumes from Bandai Entertainment.
